Assignments have been completed throughout the United States. I hold a certified general appraisal license in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Colorado and am a licensed real estate broker in Michigan.
Educational Background:
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in real estate from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. I have completed all of the necessary courses and hold the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, the ARA designation from the ASFMRA, the CCIM designation from the Commercial Institute and the R/W-AC certification from the International Right of Way Association.
Professional Experience:
After owning and operating our dairy farm in the Thumb area of Michigan I completed my BS degree and was employed as a loan officer/appraiser by the Federal Land Bank. After leaving the FLB I obtained a position as a regional appraiser with Doane Farm Management Company in DeKalb Illinois for a period of time prior to starting my own business in Michigan. I owned and operated Hodge Appraisal until 2005 when I changed the name of the company to Capstone Realty Resources to better reflect the services we provided. I have been involved in the appraisal profession since 1983.
Responsibilities at FNC:
I am presently responsible for the Eastern Division of the Appraisal Department with the territory including the US east of the Mississippi River.
Professional Accomplishments:
The development of Hodge Appraisal and Capstone Realty Resources into a nationally recognized valuation firm and our merger with Farmers National Company has been one of my greatest achievements. As an instructor for the ASFMRA as well as serving on the education committee I have had the opportunity to meet many individuals throughout the country.
Success Story:
I have completed appraisals on numerous complex agribusiness and production agriculture properties throughout the United States. Property specialties included grain elevators, livestock facilities, nurseries, mills, poultry facilities, commercial and industrial properties, sand and gravel/stone quarries and conservation property for conservation easements and sale/acquisition. Assignments have been completed for all purposes including financing, eminent domain, bankruptcy,acquisition, disposition, etc.
